Reopening the chapel
We look forward to welcoming as many as possible now that we have resumed meetings in the church building following the easing of lockdown restrictions. We want everyone to feel welcome and safe when using the building and are taking a slow and cautious approach to reopening.
To begin with there will only one meeting a week in the building, the Sunday morning service which starts at 11am. We are aware that there will be some who are unable to attend in person and will therefore be live streaming and recording this service on Zoom.
Because of the continuing risk from COVID-19 there will be many changes in how meetings in the building are managed and conducted. A summary of the main precautions needed to reduce the risk of transmission and of the risk assessment and action plan that we have developed to manage the risk can be found here. Please read this page which contains important information on what we need to do and on who should not or is advised not to come to the church building.
On the basis of our risk assessment and action plan we are setting detailed procedures in place for Sunday services and we will do the same for other meetings when they resume. The table below lists the various meetings held in the building before lockdown started and their current status. It will be updated as we gradually resume more meetings. For those meetings which have or are shortly to resume click on their name to see the detailed procedures which will apply.
|Sunday morning service (11am)||Resumed 12th July. Also live streamed on Zoom.|
|Sunday evening service (6.30pm)||Held on Zoom|
|Women's Prayer Time (Monday 10.30am)||Suspended|
|Prayer and Bible Study meeting (Tuesday 8pm)||Held on Zoom|
|Women's Reading Group (Wednesday 8.30pm)||Held on Zoom at 8pm|
|Foodbank Collection (Wednesday 6pm)||Resumed 9th September.|
For those meetings held on Zoom the meeting number and PIN are the same as we have used throughout lockdown. Please contact Martin if you need a reminder. Special arrangements, which can be found here, will apply to live streaming of Sunday services from the church building. Recordings of these services will be posted here.
Whilst the building was closed our pastor recorded a video sermon and suggested how we might incorporate that video into a time of worship at home on Sunday morning. The archive of those videos is available here.
During lockdown we also provided recommendations of online resources which can be found here.
