Evening, 6.30

We unite this evening with Christians all over the world in prayer to our Lord who is sovereign over all the events of life. Let us cry out to Him for mercy and for grace, that this plague may end, that the needs of people will be met and, above all, for people young and old to turn to the Lord Jesus Christ in repentance and faith. Pray that we Christians may give a good testimony of trust in the Lord and that we may see a great revival in the church.

How can we pray particularly in regard to the pandemic? (Here are some further thoughts to add to the list from previous weeks)
  • Praise the Lord who is sovereign in doing what pleases Him, and who is good, gracious and merciful
  • Praise the Lord that in His holiness He does not tolerate evil but overrules it for good
  • Acknowledge that the Lord governs every circumstance, in time - past, present and future; and in space - everywhere
  • Let us acknowledge and confess our sins and those of the nations and plead for forgiveness and repentance
  • Be thankful for the gifted and hard-working people seeking to care and heal; or researching ways to test for, cure and protect us from this virus - pray for answers to be found
  • Pray for the healing of the sick, the comfort of the bereaved and the relief of the needy
  • Pray for those struggling with life in isolation; for patience and strength for all as we seek to adapt and cope
  • Pray that there may be a growing spiritual awakening and a conviction of the need to fear and to seek God
