Better news

Listening today to the Prime Minister's statement to Parliament and his subsequent briefing at Downing Street, there is a sense of relief mixed with caution as we move towards a further lifting of the measures necessary because of coronavirus. We've lived for months under the weight of rules and guidelines which have severely curtailed our freedoms, but we've done so willingly and out of necessity for the sake of one another's health and the wider good of society... We inevitably feel a sense of relief that are at the point where restrictions are being steadily eased. But we also have to be cautious because of the raw facts that most people have not had the virus, it has not disappeared, it is very contagious and there is no cure or vaccine as yet. No-one wants this dangerous virus to get a hold again.

Among the PM's various announcements we learned that from 4th July places of worship will be permitted to reopen for gatherings. This is good news and we hope we shall soon be opening our church building for meetings and services. We are already thinking about how that will happen and will post details on the website in due course.
